Block stabilization

  • Loose block bonding

Lifting loose or rocking parquet blocks, scraping away old brittle bitumen adhesive, and bonding blocks down flat.

  • Diagonal progressive sanding

Sanding diagonally across the pattern (such as Herringbone or Chevron) to prevent block cupping and preserve level joint lines.

  • Trowel gap filling

Filling the entire block grid joint system with a fine wood dust and resin paste to seal gaps and lock the pattern.

Finishing & grain

  • Grain detail enhancement

Applying high-clarity primers that highlight natural oak or pitch pine grains without artificial darkening.

  • Polyurethane floor lacquers

Polyurethane lacquers or hardwax oils applied to protect high-traffic hallway parquet from wear.

  • Rotary buffer polish

Executing fine mechanical buffing passes to achieve a uniform satin or matte sheen across blocks.

Parquet restoration process

  1. Step 1

Inspect the pattern grid, lift, clean bitumen residue from, and re-glue loose parquet blocks.

  2. Step 2

Sanding diagonally across block joins to level height variations and strip old coatings.

  3. Step 3

Trowel-fill the entire parquet block floor with custom dust-resin gap filler paste.

  4. Step 4

Fine orbital sanding, vacuuming, and applying wood primers followed by double top coats.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace missing or loose parquet blocks?

Yes. We lift, repair, or replace blocks and re-bond them securely.

What is parquet restoration?

Parquet restoration is the process of repairing, sanding, and refinishing an existing parquet floor to restore its original beauty. It removes scratches, stains, and wear while bringing back the natural colour and pattern of the wood.

Can old parquet floors be restored?

Yes. Most solid wood parquet floors can be fully restored, even if they are very old or worn. As long as the wood thickness allows sanding, restoration is usually possible.

Do you seal parquet after restoration?

Yes. We finish with oils or lacquers to protect the surface and enhance the grain.
